AICE Media Studies

 Skye Kallus-Hill, Grade 10, and I'm taking this class because I wanted to learn more about videos and movies, while also looking at the themes in cinema. Along with that, I can gain another AICE credit in order to get my AICE diploma. So really it is a win win class, especially since my friends and classmates referred me to this class when they took it last year because of how interesting this class is. They also told me how nice the teachers are. I always liked movies and the themes behind the films, and so I thought this class would fit. I have also heard this class was fairly easy, which I doubted because of the fact that it's an AICE level class. But based on what I've seen in the first piece of the year, if you pay attention it should be smooth. Especially with that really high passing rate, and I plan on not lowering it. This year has been kind of crazy but when it's safe to head back to school I know I have something to look forward to. Perhaps I'll even start my own blog outside of school, where I can write about all kinds of stuff. Or maybe use a blog for notes in this class.
I am super excited for this class, and hope that we can do some pretty cool things. I don't remember the details, but I think somewhere in the year we'll be making our own video for Cambridge. Sounds like fun and I'll even have some friends who took the class last year to give me a few pointers incase I ever get confused. Other than that I do not have much more to say. I just pray I'm the right fit for this course and won't fall back behind. With further ado, this is my first blog in media studies!

AICE Media Studies: Production Blog

 As of today, no filming has been done. We have made a few tweaks to our storyboard. Also we have been collecting materials and props we would need. We bought a basketball as one of the major props. After that we used a pump to make sure its not deflated. The basketball is the most important prop of this project. And we needed to make sure we have everything settled. As for when filming will begin, I'm not sure. Next week will be my last week in this Airbnb. but my house isn't finished. So my mother is looking for other places to stay in the meantime. Wherever it is, Ill have to be there for 4 weeks. Which is annoying and irritating to even think about. But that's life so we have to deal with it. I could just ask my mother to drive me to the locations for filming. On the days she doesn't have work she probably can. But regardless it should be alright. The filming should be finished in a day or two. Then the hard part is over. Until then I guess I'll be waiting.

AICE Media Studies: Production Blog

 As of today filming has not started. It will take a while in order for me and my partner to start recording. I'm still in the Airbnb, far away from every filming location. But soon I will be back in my home and ready to film. In order to film we will need a third actor as well. Luckily for us, I talked to our mutual friend and he said he'll help act. He's also in Media Studies, but he is in S level. While me and my partner are in AS. Along with that the three locations are close to his house, my partners house, and mine as well. We can start filming now but it would be very slow. And also very inconvenient for everybody involved. For now though we will be cleaning things up with our script. Just making sure things flow and look right. Sometimes there are little errors you forget to correct. But it's not that bad and I'm not changing anything major.
