AICE Media Studies: Planning- Scripts

Scripting Blog: 

Scene 1- 

  • The film starts with actor 1 walking to his driveway (backside angle) 

  • Side angle as the camera moves to show actor 1 move into position to take a shot 

  • Another back angle as the camera cuts to behind actor 1 

  • A high angle close up as the ball bounces off the rim 

  • Camera cuts as actor 1’s phone starts to ring. 

  • Actor 1 picks up the call and conversates with actor 2 about going to the court to train 

Scene 2- 

  • Cut to the backseat angle from inside a car. Actor 1 is in the passenger seat. 

  • From the center console view it shows the actor 1 looking out the window 

  • Dashboard view shows actor 1 doing the same thing as before except from the front. 

  • Actor 1 gets a call from actor 2 again and picks up the phone 

  • Actor 2 explains that one other kid is kicking him off the court 

  • Actor 1 says he’s on the way then fades to black. 

Scene 3- 

  • Actor 1 walks into the court angle from behind following him 

  • Actor 1 notices the kid and looks for actor 2 

  • Actor 1 stares down the kid (actor 3) close up angle 

  • Actor 3 looks back at actor 1 smugly  

  • Actor 2 taps on actor 1’s shoulder. While holding the basketball, front angle 

  • Actor 3 stands upright while staring down at actor 1 

 

Scene 4- 

  • Actor 2 explains who that is, front angle 

  • Actor 1 yells out 

  • Actor 3 responds 

  • Actor 1 nods and mutters 

  • Actor 1 and 3 moves onto the court. Angle from the side 

  • Actor 3 steals the ball from actor 1, same angle 

 

Scene 5- 

  • Actor 3 hoots the ball as actor1 trips and falls. Angle from the back 

  • Camera cuts to the hoop before the ball connects 

  • The screen cuts to black right before the shot hits 

  • Cuts back to actor 3 leaning back up the wall 

  • Actor 1’s eye burns fire red 

  • Actor 1 sits on his knees and holds his head in shock 

 

Sound and Dialogue Script: 

--- 

Scene 1:  

    -Josh: "Yo I'm tryna play at the court, you wanna come by?" 
 

    -Michael: "Yeah sure."  
 

Scene 2:  

    -Josh: "Ay somebody here is knocking me off the court. I think you should play him. He's good. 
 

    -Michael: "Uh alright."  
 

Scene 3:  

- No Dialogue 

Scene 4: 

    -Josh: "Yo." 

    -Michael: "Yo. Where is he?"  

    -Josh: "Right over there on the wall." 

    -Michael: "Yo let's run one." 

    -Jordan: "Yeah lemme knock you off the court like the other kid."  

    -Jordan: "Gimme that!" 
 

Scene 5:  

    -No Dialogue 
 

Scene 6:  

    -Josh: "Yoo he destroyed you."  

    -Jordan: "Off my court, you're not winning the tournament." 
 

    -Jordan: "Look at the poster." 
 

Scene 7: 

    -Michael: "Damn, I need to get better." 
 

Scene 8:  

    -Jordan: "Laughs" 
 

Scene 9:  

    -Michael: "Nah I'm done playing around!" 

    -Jordan: "Yeah sureee." 
 

Scene 10:  

-No Dialogue

Shooting Script:

Scene 1:  

    -Camera cuts to the front of actor #1. 
 

    -Actor #2 yelled at Actor #1 about what happened with a close-up shot. 
 

    -Cuts to a high angle to actor #1 talking about what happened. 
 

    -Cuts to actor #3 responding to actor #1 at a mid-shot.  
 

    -Actor #2 shows a master shot of all the characters 

    -Cuts to a mid-shot with actor #3 pointing at the poster.

-Camera cuts to the front of actor #1. 

-Actor #2 yelled at Actor #1 about what happened with a close-up shot.

-Actor #2 shows a master shot of all the characters 

-Cuts to a mid-shot with actor #3 pointing at the poster. 

 
 

Scene 7: 

-Camera zooms in on a poster. 

-Actor #1 comments on what happened and needs to get better. 

-Camera fades to black. 

-Non-digetic sound plays while actor #1 plays basketball at his house. 

-Camera cuts to a close-up shot of actor #1 shooting the ball. 

-Close-up on the basketball missing the hoop.  

Scene 8:  

-Camera fades to black 

-Fades back to the court with a two-shot of actor #1 actor #2 in a one on one. 

-Actor #1 shoots while Actor  #2 blocks his shot. A two-shot is taken.  

-Screen fades to black again and music fades away. 

-Fades to actor #1 missing a shot with actor #3 contesting them. Camera is a mid-shot of actor #3 with the basketball hoop in the background. 

-Close-up of actor #3 laughing at actor #1 

Scene 9:  

-Close-up shot on Actor #1 with being visibly upset. 

-Two-shot on actors #1 and #3 with Actor #1 yelling at actor # 

-Close-up shot on actor #3 saying how Actor #1 won't comeback and doesn't have a chance to win the tournament. 

-A wide-two-shot on Actor's #3 and #1 while actor #1 drives towards the basket. 

-Two-shot with actor's #3 and #1 while #1 bodies #3 in the paint and goes up. 

-Mid-shot of actor #1 dunking over actor #3 with a high angle.  

Scene 10: 

-Screen fades to black and credits start to play. 

-Words pop up on screen with a question. 

-Next title text is also a question. 

-Name plate for movie cuts on the screen.  

-Credits pop up 

-End screen ends off the title.
